Shoretire battles Ronaldo, Sancho, 4 other players for Man Utd Goal of the Month November
Published: December 01, 2021
Manchester United have announced the nominees for the club's Goal of the Month across all levels for November 2021 and a player of Nigerian descent is in the running for the monthly accolade.
Shola Shoretire has been shortlisted for the Goal of the Month award along with six other players namely Cristiano Ronaldo, who has been triple nominated, Jadon Sancho who is double nominated, Charlie McNeill, Amad, Alessia Russo and Ella Toone.
This is the second consecutive month the England U19 international has been nominated for the Goal of the Month.
Seven minutes into the UEFA Youth League clash against Atalanta on November 2, the Anglo-Nigerian winger put United in the front foot when he calmly found the corner of the net after receiving a pass from Omari Forson.
That was the only game he featured in last month, missing matches against Villarreal (UEFA Youth League), Leeds United, Derby County and Crystal Palace (Premier League 2), and was not selected for Premier League and U18 Premier League matches.
Shoretire was named Manchester United's Jimmy Murphy Young Player of the Year for 2020-2021.
