Super Eagles star targets permanent move to Watford
Published: December 16, 2021
Super Eagles star Oghenekaro Etebo is hoping that his season-long loan move to Watford will be made permanent at the end of the season.
The Stoke City-owned midfielder arrived at the Hornets in July and the deal came with an option to buy inserted into the agreement.
Etebo is currently rehabbing after suffering a long-term injury that would see him miss the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations.
If his rehabilitation goes according to plan, he should resume full training with the rest of his teammates at Watford sometime next month.
Prior to his spell on the sidelines, he was involved in all the matches played by Watford in the Premier League, logging 370 minutes spread across six matches.
Etebo was a special guest on this week's episode of Inside The Hive and was asked if he would like to make the move to Watford permanent.
He answered : "To be honest I would love to because everyone has been amazing - the staff, the players. The dressing room has been good.
"Since I came to Watford, I have loved it since day one till today so I would love to if they want to make my deal to be permanent, I would love to stay."
Etebo has a contract with Stoke City until June 30, 2023.
