Published: January 02, 2022
Daryl Dike, the younger brother of former Super Eagles striker Bright Dike, has completed a permanent transfer to West Brom, the Baggies informed via their official website on New Year's Day when the transfer window opened for business.
The younger Dike is cap-tied to his country of birth, United States after earning five caps during the 2021 CONCACAF Gold Cup.
The 21-year-old has put pen to paper on a four-and-a-half-year contract with the Baggies, keeping him at the club until the end of the 2025-2026 season.
Although the transfer fee has not been disclosed by West Brom, ESPN's Jeff Carlisle has reported that Orlando City FC will receive a $9.5 million transfer fee, performance-based bonuses and 20% of any future sale.
Dike played under current West Brom boss Valérien Ismaël at Barnsley in the second half of the 2020-2021 season, scoring nine goals in 22 appearances in all competitions.
Subject to international clearance, he could make his debut for West Brom against Queens Park Rangers on January 15.
Dike links up with Nigeria international central defender Semi Ajayi at The Hawthorns.
