20-year-old Anglo-Nigerian fullback involved in Arsenal's final workout pre-Liverpool
Published: January 20, 2022Talented fullback of Nigerian descent Ryan Alebiosu is presumably in contention to be included in Arsenal's matchday squad when they face Liverpool in the Carabao Cup semi-final second leg at the Emirates Stadium on Thursday night.
According to the training images published by Arsenal's official website, the Anglo-Nigerian youngster was promoted to first team training by manager Mikel Arteta and participated in the final workout held at London Colney on Wednesday.
If selected to face Jurgen Klopp's team it would be Alebiosu's first squad involvement since joining Arsenal thirteen years ago.
The 20-year-old predominantly plays as a right-back but is also comfortable playing as a wing-back.
Considered as one of the most talented players of Nigerian descent at the Arsenal academy, Alebiosu has made an impact for the Gunners development squad this season, setting up seven goals for his teammates in fourteen appearances combined in the Premier League 2 and Papa John's Trophy.
He netted his first goal in the Premier League 2 in Arsenal's 4-0 rout of Everton back in October.
