Arsenal boss runs the rule over promising defender of Nigerian descent pre-Burnley
Published: January 23, 2022
Arsenal first team boss Mikel Arteta seems to have taking a liking to promising fullback of Nigerian descent Ryan Alebiosu, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
The Spanish football tactician ran the rule over Alebiosu in his team's final workout staged at London Colney on Saturday, a day before their Premier League meeting with Burnely at the Emirates Stadium.
Arteta also observed the Anglo-Nigerian at close quarters in the days leading up to the Carabao Cup semifinal second leg clash against Liverpool and named him in the matchday 20 but he ended up being a non-playing substitute.
Arthur Okonkwo was also involved in the session, putting him in contention to be included in the matchday squad for a Premier League game for the sixth time in the current season.
Okonkwo and Alebiosu were not on U23 duties on Friday as Arsenal were held to a 1-1 draw by Malcolm Ebiowei's Derby County in the Premier League 2, fueling speculation that they are in the provisional roster to take on the Clarets.
