Napoli laid down their title credentials by beating Venezia 2-0 in a Serie A clash at the Stadio Pierluigi Penzo on Sunday afternoon.
Victor Osimhen made his first start in the Italian top-flight since suffering a cheekbone injury during the second half of the meeting against Inter Milan on November 21, an injury that contributed to his withdrawal from Nigeria's Africa Cup of Nations squad.
Super Eagles defender Tyronne Ebuehi and ex-Nigeria U23 international David Okereke started from the off for

Following a goalless first half, Osimhen opened the scoring in the 59th minute when he rose highest to head the ball home with Matteo Politano providing the assist for the goal.
It was his first goal for Napoli since finding the net against Legia Warsaw in the Europa League back in October.
Venezia were reduced to ten men deep in added on time after the dismissal of Ebuehi for a challenge on Dries Mertens.
After reviewing the incident on the pitchside monitor, the referee decided to change the originally given yellow card for the Nigerian to a red.
Napoli are second in the provisional standings with 52 points, one less than leaders Inter Milan who have played a game less.
