Watford's King of the Match Dennis partnered in attack by Salah in Shearer's TOTW
Published: February 21, 2022Emmanuel Dennis has been named in Alan Shearer's Premier League Team of the Week for matchweek 26.
The Nigeria international was voted King of the Match after helping Watford record their first win under manager Roy Hodgson, a 1-0 success over Aston Villa at Villa Park on Saturday.
Twelve minutes from time, Dennis netted his ninth of the campaign when he got in front of Young and powered home a header past goalkeeper Martinez.
Newcastle United, Burnley and Tottenham Hotspur have contributed the most players to the Team of the Week with two each, while Watford, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Arsenal, Southampton and Liverpool have one representative each.
In a 4-3-3 formation, goalkeeper José Sá (Wolves) has been named in Shearer's side with a back four composed of Tino Livramento (Southampton), Eric Dier (Tottenham Hotspur), Nathan Collins (Burnley) and Matt Targett (Newcastle United).
The holding midfielders are two Hale End Academy graduates in Joe Willock (Newcastle United) and Emile Smith Rowe (Arsenal), with Harry Kane of Tottenham Hotspur playing in an advanced midfield role.
Wout Weghorst leads the line and the Burnley striker is flanked by Mohamed Salah and Dennis.
