Dennis fails to score; Troost-Ekong, Kalu unused subs in Watford's loss to Olise's Eagles
Published: February 23, 2022
Super Eagles striker Emmanuel Dennis was in action for 90 minutes for Watford at Vicarage Road Wednesday night but fired blanks as they suffered a damaging 4-1 defeat to Crystal Palace.
Dennis is the club's top scorer with nine goals in 23 Premier League games this season.
The Eagles secured their first League win in 2022 with goals from Jean-Philippe Mateta, Conor Gallagher and a brace from Wilfred Zaha, who was scoring his first goals and game against former manager Roy Hodgson.
Watford's consolation strike came from captain Moussa Sissoko in the 18th minute
There was however no place in the game for the duo of William Troost-Ekong and Samuel Kalu who were unused substitutes for Watford.
Nigeria Football Federation target Michael Olise started and was in action for 73 minutes before making way for Ghana star Jordan Ayew, while Eberechi Eze watched proceedings from the bench for the entirety of the game.
Watford sit second bottom of the Premier League with eighteen points accumulated from twenty five matches.
