'Ojo maybe played him on' - Pundit has his say on why Rangers' goal vs Aberdeen stood
Scottish Premiership champions Rangers left it late to beat Aberdeen at Ibrox Stadium on Saturday evening with substitute Kemar Roofe scoring a contentious winner in the 81st minute.

Joe Aribo and Calvin Bassey started for the Light Blues and they were joined on the pitch by Leon Balogun in the 59th minute, while former PSV wonderkid Funso Ojo played the full game for the visitors.

Roofe, who entered the game as a substitute in the 78th minute, bundled in the winning goal from close range from a James Tavernier header into the danger zone which took a deflection off Aribo.

There was a hint of a possible offside in the build-up to Rangers match-winning goal, but the SPFL have not yet introduced VAR to the Premiership so it meant the decision was left to referee John Beaton.

Former Rangers forward Rory Loy has explained why the goal counted, saying that Aberdeen defender Ojo was playing the Rangers players onside.

"It was touch and go for a long time. It was an uneventful first half. Roofe's goal looked offside at first, but Funso Ojo maybe plays him on," Loy said on BBC Sportsound.

Rangers are now level on points with Celtic at the top of the Premiership but have played a game more than their city rivals.
