Published: March 10, 2022
Slavia Prague stars Peter Olayinka and Yira Sor and Feyenoord striker Cyriel Dessers were on target as their respective clubs swept their opponents aside in the UEFA Europa Conference League round of 16 matches on Thursday evening.
Slavia thrashed LASK Linz 4-1 at the Sinobo Stadium thanks to goals from Yira Sor, Peter Olayinka and Ibrahim Traoré.
Former Nigeria U20 international Sor broke the deadlock when he shot into the top left corner in the third minute, and doubled the home team's lead in the 29th minute.
Olayinka got in on the act, firing a shot through a defender's legs and past the goalkeeper in the 83rd minute, few minutes after he had hit the crossbar.
The Super Eagles striker was handed the captain's armband against the Austrian side.
At Stadion FK Partizan, Dutch Eredivisie side Feyenoord came from behind to hammer Partizan Belgrade 5-2.
Dessers netted a crucial equaliser in the 52nd minute and set up Toornstra for Feyenoord's fifth goal with thirteen minutes left on the clock.
His goal and assist against the Serbian side took his goal involvement to six (5 goals, 1 assist) in his last four matches in the Europa Conference League.
