Glasgow Rangers' Super Eagles stars named in Europa League Best Eleven
Published: March 11, 2022
Joe Aribo and Leon Balogun have been named in the Europa League Best Eleven by football statistics website Whoscored after their outstanding performance in last night's 3-0 rout of Red Star Belgrade.
The central defender scored Rangers' third goal when he rose highest to nod in a header after a brilliant delivery from Tavernier five minutes into the second half - a second headed goal for the former Brighton & Hove man in this season's competition.
In a 4-4-2 formation, Balogun, who was rated at 8.4, is one of the two center backs and Aribo (7.6) starts as the right-sided midfielder.
While Aribo won a game high four aerial duels over the course of seventy five minutes, Balogun was next with three.
The ex-Charlton Athletic star registered three interceptions, more than any other Rangers player that tasted action, followed by Balogun with two.
The 33-year-old registered four clearances and the 25-year-old finished with two.
Aribo was the joint top dribbler (2), joint most fouled player (3) and gave away only one foul which made him pick up a yellow card in the 30th minute.
