'We are going to win by one or two goals' - Aghahowa makes bold prediction about Ghana vs Nigeria
Published: March 25, 2022
Retired Nigeria international Julius Aghahowa fancies the chances of the Super Eagles beating Ghana in Friday evening's 2022 World Cup qualifier at the Baba Yara Stadium.
Given the rivalry between the two West African powerhouses, the clash between the Black Stars and Super Eagles is the most eagerly anticipated in the 2022 World Cup playoff and has been dubbed the 'jollof derby'.
Nigeria have in their ranks players who can decide a game such as Victor Osimhen and Moses Simon, while the Black Stars stand-in captain Thomas Partey, Arsenal's Player of the Month for February, could prove a headache for the Super Eagles.
With the second leg to be staged in Abuja on Tuesday, March 29, the Super Eagles will have one foot in the 2022 World Cup if they manage to score at lest two goals without conceding.
"The rivalry between the two sides has been there. The Super Eagles should not forget that Ghana won't let them come to their home and defeat them," Aghahowa said on Channels TV on Friday morning.
"They should expect difficulty there but at the end of the day we want to win, that's the most important thing.
"I expect the Super Eagles to win, if you look at the players man for man and the form, we have more players in different positions.

"We are going to win by a goal or two in Ghana and then when we come back we'll qualify".
In their last five matches, Nigeria have won three and drawn one
with the other game ending in defeat, while their opponent on Friday,
Ghana lost three games, drew one and won one.
