Arsenal thrashed Brentford B 4-1 in a friendly arranged by both teams to give their players match practice ahead of the their upcoming Premier League fixtures, with three youngsters of Nigerian descent making the starting lineup.
According to the match report published by the official website of the Bees, defender Mazeed Ogungbo and central midfielder Miguel Azeez started for the Gunners first team, while left-back Val Adedokun started for Brentford.
Goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo, wingers Joel Ideho and Nathan Butler-Oyedeji were on the bench for Arsenal, and former Manchester United schoolboy Deji Sotona entered the game as a substitute for Brentford at halftime.
Former Arsenal youth teamer Daniel Oyegoke was on international duty with England U19s on Tuesday, coming on for the last nineteen minutes of a 2-0 win over Portugal, so wasn't involved for Brentford against his former club.
In the friendly staged at London Colney, Alexandre Lacazette opened the scoring midway through the first half and scored two more after the interval before Rob Holding made it 4-0.
Second half substitute Jeanvier pulled a goal back when he nodded home from close range.
Arsenal face Crystal Palace in a London derby in their next Premier League game on Monday, April 4, while Brentford are guests to Chelsea.
