Vieira confirms Olise will miss Leicester clash but could be available to face Chelsea
Published: April 09, 2022
Speaking at the pre-match press conference before Crystal Palace's visit to Leicester City, manager Patrick Vieira confirmed that Michael Olise will not be at his disposal for Sunday afternoon's game.
The France U21 international of Nigerian descent is not available for selection due to a foot injury he suffered while on international duty late last month.
The injury saw him miss Monday's 3-0 win against Arsenal and Vieira is hoping the winger would be available for next week's Emirates FA Cup clash against Chelsea, where he spent time as a schoolboy in his formative years as a footballer.
Olise has been a key player for the Eagles in the FA Cup, scoring two goals and assisting three others in four appearances, helping the London club reach the semifinals of the competition.
In quotes relayed by Football. London, Vieira stated : "He is not going to be available for the Leicester game.
"There is progress and the plan for him is to start working outside next week so there is a chance he will be part of the squad (for Chelsea)."
This season, Olise has directly participated in seven goals in twenty-two Premier League appearances, ten of which he started.
