Nigeria U20-eligible striker celebrates new Eagles contract with goal vs Southampton U18s
Published: April 10, 2022
Ademola Ola-Adebomi celebrated his new Crystal Palace deal by getting on the scoresheet against Southampton in an U18 Premier League fixture on Saturday,
Two days ago, the highly-rated center forward signed his first professional contract with the Eagles, ten years after he first joined the club as a schoolboy.
In the 29th minute, Ola-Adebomi finished past goalkeeper Eddie Beach after a swift counter attack.
And four minutes into the second half, another Flying Eagles-eligible player in Victor Akinwale converted from twelve yards to double Crystal Palace's advantage after Ola-Adebomi had won a penalty.
Crystal Palace thought they were in a commanding position but the Saints fought back to win the game courtesy of goals from Sonnie Davis, Dom Ballard and Fedel Ross-Lang.
Goalkeeper Owen Goodman and central midfielder David Ozoh were the other teenagers of Nigerian descent in action for Crystal Palace with the quartet all going the distance at Staplewood Training Ground in Hampshire.
