'He's an attack-minded player' - Van Bronckhorst says Aribo's goal will give him confidence
Published: April 10, 2022Rangers manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst was delighted to see Joe Aribo get on the scoresheet in his side's 4-0 hammering of St. Mirren in a Scottish Premiership clash on Sunday afternoon, saying the goal will give him confidence ahead of upcoming games.
The Nigeria national teamer hadn't scored in his last nine consecutive appearances for the Light Blues prior to the trip to The SMISA Stadium.
With fourteen minutes left on the clock, Aribo rounded off the scoring with a spectacular 18-yard drive that went into the far corner.
Rangers, who had suffered back-to-back defeats, were in a commanding position before the midfielder's goal as Kemar Roofe netted his first hat-trick to give them a three-goal cushion.
Reacting to Aribo's fantastic effort, Van Bronckhorst told Rangers TV post-match : "It's good, it's always good to get on the scoresheet especially for a striker, but also for Joe.
"You know he's an attack-minded player and gives him also a lot of confidence for the games ahead."

With his strike against St Mirren, Aribo has now netted twenty five goals in 139 all-competition appearances for Rangers since landing at the club from Charlton Athletic in the summer of 2019.
The number 17 and his teammates face Braga in one of their most important games of the season this coming Thursday when they aim to qualify for the last four of the Europa League.
