Ecuador will be using the friendly as part of their preparations for the 2022 World Cup, where they will be facing African champions Senegal in their final group game during the tournament in Qatar.
The Tricolors squad boasts the likes of Pervis Estupiñán (Villarreal), Jeremy Sarmiento (Brighton & Hove), Enner Valencia (Fenerbahce) and Carlos Gruezo (FC Augsburg).
This will be the first time Nigeria has faced South American opposition since they were forced to a 1-1 draw by Brazil in a glamour friendly back in October 2019.
Five days after facing Mexico, Nigeria will do battle with Ecuador at the Red Bull Arena in
Harrison, New Jersey – home to New York Red Bulls.
Ecuador are ranked 46th in the world, sixteen places below Nigeria in the latest FIFA ranking.
