The former Flamingoes and Falconets goal poacher ended her association with Swedish club Linköpings FC in December.
She was playing her first game for Tigres UANL after international duty with the Super Falcons in the recent back-to-back friendlies against Olympic champions Canada.
The 24-year-old put in a woman of the match display as Tigres UANL thrashed Santos Femenil 4-1, corresponding to matchday 15 of the Grita México Clausura 2022 of the Women's League.
Nine minutes in, Kanu headed home after a cross from the right wing and four minutes into the second half the Nigerian restored Tigres UANL one-goal advantage with a right-footed finish from close range.
Just past the hour mark, the number 29 got her treble with another header after a brilliant cross into the box.
Kanu has now tallied ten goals this campaign and her other hat-trick other was on matchday 4 against Atlas Femenil.
