Four upgrades Osimhen would add to Arsenal's attack If signed as Lacazette's replacement

The transfer window is not yet officially open but clubs around the world are already taking huge steps to plug in gaps and improve the overall quality of their playing squads.

The Gunners are no different and are targeting Nigerian hitman Victor Osimhen who will most likely be a replacement for Alexandre Lacazette who is out of contract at the end of next month.

If the move eventually materialises, Osimhen would undoubtedly upgrade the Arsenal attack in so many ways.

Four  of these upgrades will be discussed in this article.

Pace: Arsenal is one of the most devastating transition teams in the Premier League. To make transitions more effective, there needs to be a striker who is willing to charge at the 18-yard-box at full speed to finish off chances.

While Alexandre Lacazette is not particularly known for pace, his knee injury shortly after arriving at Arsenal has robbed him of the little pace he had.

Victor Osimhen would be a significant upgrade in this department as his pace would provide Arsenal with an extra option during transitions.

Movement : Looking at Mikel Arteta's tactical set-up when Arsenal are on the offensive, it is imperative for his striker to be fluid in movement.

Osimhen's diagonal and split movements will provide new angles for the likes of Bukayo Saka, Emile Smith Rowe and Gabriel Martinelli to charge into.

Finishing : Less should be said concerning the finishing levels between Lacazette and Osimhen. 18 goals for Napoli and 6 goals for Arsenal speak volumes.

Aerial Presence: While technical abilities are a core component of performing in the Premier League, aerial presence is quite important too. 1.86m Osimhen will offer more aerial presence compared to 1.76 m Lacazette.

The likes of Kieran Tierney, Gabriel Martinelli and Martin Odegaard would have a better aerial specimen to aim for during crosses.
