Report : Arsenal manager Arteta makes decision on Nigeria-eligible central midfielder
Published: May 31, 2022
Arsenal first team manager Mikel Arteta has reportedly made a decision on the future of Nigeria-eligible central midfielder Miguel Azeez ahead of next season.
According to The Sun UK, the Spanish football tactician is ready to allow promising youngsters such as Azeez, Charlie Patino and Omari Hutchinson the chance to cut their teeth in the Europa League group stage games.
It means the Anglo-Nigerian wonderkid is expected to stay put at the Emirates Stadium until at least the January transfer window.
The Gunners have qualified for the 2022-2023 Europa League by virtue of finishing fifth in the Premier League.
Azeez would by twenty in September and has reached a stage in his career where he's determined to play first team football be it at Arsenal or elsewhere, leading to speculation surrounding his future at Arsenal.
The Hale End Academy graduate has not figured for Arsenal's first team since he made his professional debut in a dead rubber Europa League match against Dundalk in December 2020.
Overall, Azeez has been named in ten match day squads, including five in the Premier League.
