Huddersfield confirm Anjorin has returned to Chelsea; decisions made on five young Nigerian defenders

Three days after missing promotion to the Premier League via the playoffs, Championship outfit Huddersfield Town have published their retained and released list.

The Terriers have confirmed that England U20 international of Nigerian descent Faustino Anjorin has returned to his parent club Chelsea following the conclusion of his loan deal.

Anjorin joined Huddersfield Town in the January transfer window and went on to make eight appearances for the club, scoring one goal in a league match vs Coventry City.

Regarding the academy teams, Irish-born centre-back of Nigerian descent, Josh Okpolokpo has been released, three years after his arrival at Huddersfield from Ipswich Town.

Defenders David Adewoju, Mustapha Olagunju and Temi Okuwa, left-back Charles Ondo, who are all eligible to represent the Nigerian national teams, are under contract for next season.

Exciting winger Hazeem Bakre will begin the first year of his scholarship with Huddersfield Town in July 2022.

Of the aforementioned academy players, only Olagunju has made his senior debut for Huddersfield Town.
