Two Nigerian players including 2021 Super Eagles invitee released by Tottenham Hotspur
Published: June 02, 2022
Following the conclusion of the 2021-2022 season, English Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur have published their released list.
Two Nigerian players in the shape of 2021 Super Eagles invitee Josh Oluwayemi and versatile central defender Tobi Omole will be departing Tottenham Hotspur when their contracts expire on June 30, 2022.
The two youngsters are bidding farewell to Tottenham Hotspur without making their senior debuts, though they were often invited to train with the first team.
Goalkeeper Oluwayemi, who trained with the Nigeria squad last summer in the United States before a friendly vs Mexico, signed a scholarship deal with Spurs in 2017 and two years later inked his first professional contract.
The 21-year-old is credited with 33 appearances in the Premier League 2, posting three shutouts while conceding 60 goals.
Omole arrived at Tottenham in October 2020 after he was released by north London rivals Arsenal.
The Hale End Academy graduate was registered as a senior player in Tottenham's Premier League and Europa Conference League squads last season.
