Sao Tome and Principe v Nigeria : Key problem Peseiro needs to fix identified

Coach of the Super Eagles of Nigeria, Jose Peseiro, finally got his first win in charge of the Nigerian National Football team when Nigeria defeated Sierra Leone by 2 goals to 1 in the first AFCONQ game played at the MKO Abiola Stadium in Abuja on Thursday, June 9th, 2022.
Nigeria's win against Sierra Leone didn't come easily as the Super Eagles had to battle hard from a goal down to win by 2 goals to 1.
The win will no doubt help the Super Eagles in their quest to qualify for the 2023 African Cup of Nations but there needs to be one key improvement along the line as they prepare for their next qualifier match against Sao Tome and Principe, which is scheduled to be held on Monday, 13th of June, 2022.

Conceding early goals in a game can be highly detrimental and Nigeria has been conceding them steadily since Peseiro's first game against Mexico.

The same thing happened against Sierra Leone as an 11th-minute early goal was conceded but luckily they were able to overturn the deficit.
All goals had one thing in common. They happened due to a lack of concentration by the defence.
To avoid this, the coach needs to keep them focused at all times. He either dedicates a coach by the touchline to constantly communicate with the defence and keep them on their toes or he does it himself.
Going a goal down early in international matches usually proves decisive as the Ecuador match showed and Peseiro must find a way around it.
