The Starters

Goalkeeper

Francis Uzoho: A spectator in the first half with very little to do. Organized his backline well and showed good handling to catch Sao Tome's crosses. 7/10

Defenders

Ola Aina: Satisfying performance. Was totally free to get forward and roam which he did admirably.

Got caught out of position a few times but that was expected considering how high up the pitch he played. 7/10

Semi Ajayi: Played as a one-man defence at times and was at his calming best. He sprayed passes and mopped up loose passes with ease.

The few times Sao Tome broke forward, he was on hand to disrupt their attacking flow. 8/10

Calvin Bassey: Was playing in a centre-back position alongside Ajayi and he did well.

His pace was instrumental in recovering possession quickly and mounting attacks. Proved difficult to handle for the Sao Tome defence as he was afforded space to wreak havoc. 8/10

Midfielders

Oghenekaro Etebo: Outstanding recycler of the ball. Helped sustain pressure with his immaculate choice of passes.

Scored a sumptuous freekick in the 55th minute to cap off an excellent display. Screened the defence excellently and was vocal throughout. 8/10

Alex Iwobi: Growing into his deep-lying playmaker role excellently. Seems to have found his place in the team and Peseiro's trust in the Everton man is glaring with him starting and playing full games consistently.

Great line-breaking passer and carrier of the ball.  7.5/10

Moses Simon: Lively display and delivered his third assist in two games with a lovely pinpoint cross for Osimhen to head home.

A constant threat to the Sao Tome defence and scored the second goal with a smart finish after some good work by Osimhen.

Was relieved of defensive duties today due to the little attacking threat from Sao Tome but the little he did was done quite well. 8/10

Ademola Lookman: Was extremely dangerous when floating through the half-space to create space for Aina on the overlap.

Got his goal in the 64th minute after Moffi's miss from Ahmed Musa's pass. Grabbed an assist for Osimhen's second goal too. Great outing. 8/10

Strikers

Terem Moffi: Ran the channels well but was let down by some poor touches in the first half. Good pressing and relentlessness.

Rounded the keeper in the 38th minute but couldn't pick out a teammate for the pass. Great finish from Osimhen's pass in the 43rd minute to give Nigeria the 3-0 lead.

Scored his second in the 60th minute from Sanusi's pass before being substituted in the 71st minute for Sadiq Umar. 8.5/10

Victor Osimhen: The undisputed star of the show. He was a menace throughout and could have scored more despite his double brace.

Has a bullet header in him and is a threat behind the defence. Little wonder why top clubs are after his signature this summer. Incredible outing. 10/10

The Substitutes

Abdullahi Shehu: Replaced Ola Aina in the 58th minute for the second consecutive game. Didn't venture forward as much as the Torino man but kept everything simple. Would need to do more to lay a claim to a starting position. 5/10

Ahmed Musa: Came on for Moses Simon and showed his quality and experience with some beautiful touches and runs. Got the assist for Osimhen's third goal. 6.5/10

Leon Balogun: Replaced Bassey in the 71st minute and kept things ticking at the back. 6/10

Emmanuel Dennis: Lively cameo. Replaced Lookman and won the penalty which he dispatched himself to get Nigeria to double figures.

Stretched the pitch as Shehu was not willing to come forward as Ola Aina did. 7/10

Sadiq Umar: Showed a good turn of pace in the 73rd minute after replacing Moffi. Average execution but good intent. Nearly scored too. 6/10
