Chelsea loanee of Nigerian descent makes friendly debut for Welling Utd in 7-3 win vs Reds
Published: July 10, 2022Two days after completing a season-long loan move to Welling United in search of first team football, Chelsea-owned goalkeeper Prince Adegoke made his friendly debut for the National League South club.
Welling United announced just before kickoff that the team news won't be published due to trialists in both squad.
Allnigeriasoccer.com can exclusively report that 2019 Nigeria U17 invitee Adegoke played the first half of Welling United's 7-3 rout of Combined Counties Football League side Beckenham Town F.C.
The Reds took the lead in the seventh minute after a mix up at the back allowed a player to tap in and two minutes later the Chelsea loanee made a brilliant save to deny the opponents from doubling the advantage.
Cameron Andrews restored parity in the 18th minute and a brace from Ash made it 3-1 but two goals in the space of two minutes ensured both teams were level on 3-3 in the 40th minute, before Andrews scored a great goal from the edge of the box to make it 4-3.
Welling United took total control of the game in the second half and their dominance was rewarded as they netted three goals without reply, with former England U19 international of Nigerian descent Ade Azeez netting a brace.
