Queens Park Rangers make transfer decision on Chelsea's Nigeria-eligible midfielder
Published: July 21, 2022
Championship outfit Queens Park Rangers will not be pursuing a deal for England U20 international of Nigerian descent Faustino Anjorin amid speculation linking him with a potential move to Loftus Road in the summer transfer window.
It was previously claimed that Queens Park Rangers as well as Coventry City, Huddersfield Town and Norwich City were all keen on the attacking midfielder, but West London Sport reported this morning that the Anglo-Nigerian is not a player of interest to the Hoops.
Per the fresh report, Queens Park Rangers new manager Michael Beale wants to bolster his squad with a midfielder, right-back and at least one striker ahead of the new season.
Having struggled to break into the first team of Chelsea, Anjorin was shipped off on loan to Lokomotiv Moscow in the first half of the 2021-2022 season and finished the campaign at Huddersfield Town.
And if the pre-season preparations are anything to go by, his situation has not changed, with manager Thomas Tuchel sending him to train with the development squad in the United States despite initially including him in the first team traveling party to Stateside.
Anjorin has three years to run on his contract with Chelsea, whom he joined at U9 level.
