Manchester United looking to loan out promising winger of Nigerian descent
Published: September 01, 2022
Manchester United are reportedly looking to loan out promising England U19 international winger of Nigerian descent Shola Shoretire on transfer deadline day.
Manchester Evening News' reporter Richard Fay reported on Thursday morning that the Red Devils are set for a busy transfer deadline day with a host of players including Shoretire in contention to leave the club.
Should the deal go through, it would be the first time he has departed Manchester United on a temporary basis since joining the club at the age of nine.
The 18-year-old has not been involved in four of the five games played by United's development squad in the new season, an indication that a transfer is on the cards.
The arrival of Brazil star Antony from Ajax Amsterdam has pushed him further down the pecking order of wingers at Old Trafford.
To date, Shoretire has been named in twelve matchday squads, making appearances off the bench in five of them.
He signed his first professional contract with Manchester United in February 2021.
