Promising Anglo-Nigerian youngster Ethan Nwaneri has been handed his competitive debut for Arsenal U21s, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
The England youth international started for the Gunners in their ongoing Premier League 2 game against Blackburn Rovers at Meadow Park.
This is the first time Nwaneri has been named in a matchday squad for the development squad.
His other appearances for Arsenal youth teams were in the U18 Premier League, playing nine games combined since making his debut for the age group against Reading on May 4, 2021.
An attacking midfielder by trade, Nwaneri has been identified as a player with potential so much so that he's already playing up his age group for both Arsenal and the Young Lions.
The 15-year-old has bagged four goals for Arsenal in the U18 Premier League while providing four assists.
Nwaneri becomes eligible to sign a scholarship contract in July 2023.
Arsenal U21s were leading Blackburn Rovers 1-0 after Cozier-Duberry broke the deadlock inside ten minutes.
