Ten Hag runs the rule over Shoretire final workout before trip to Moldova
Published: September 14, 2022
Manchester United head coach Erik ten Hag monitored Shola Shoretire at close quarters on Wednesday morning.
According to Manchester Evening News, the England U19 international of Nigerian descent was among the twenty one outfield players that trained this morning before their trip to Moldova for the Europa League fixture against FC Sheriff.
Shoretire was added to United's Europa League squad last week but was omitted from the matchday squad for the visit of Real Sociedad.
The 18-year-old was linked with a loan move in the summer transfer window but the powers that be at the Red Devils decided that it was best for him to continue his development at the club.
With uncertainty surrounding the availability of Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial sidelined since the win over Liverpool, Shoretire stands a good chance of being named in the traveling squad to Moldova.
The 18-year-old made his European debut in a Europa League clash against Real Sociedad on February 25, 2021, before playing his first Champions League game against Swiss opponents Young Boys on December 8, 2021.
The academy product has not figured for the first team since appearing off the bench against Crystal Palace on the final day of last season.
