Super Eagles GK named in Omonia's travelling squad for UEL clash vs Man Utd
Published: October 11, 2022
Super Eagles goalkeeper Francis Uzoho is set be included in Omonia Nicosia's matchday squad when they face off with Premier League giants Manchester United in the UEFA Europa League on Thursday.
Manager Neil Lennon and a 23-player traveling squad left this morning for England with Uzoho part of the group.
With no point to their name after three rounds in Group E of the Europa League, the Cypriot side must avoid defeat against the Red Devils to keep alive their hopes of knockout qualification realistic.
Brazilian goalkeeper Fabiano earned rave reviews for his performance against Ronaldo and co. last week but is doubtful to face the Red Devils.
The 2013 U17 world champion with the Golden Eaglets has been inactive at club level since September 8, when he played the entirety of the second half in a 3-0 home loss to FC Sheriff.
Uzoho and his teammates will train at the iconic Old Trafford Stadium on Wednesday, starting from 1900 hours, and they will fly back to Larnaca on Friday morning.
