At the City Ground. Taiwo Awoniyi scored in Nottingham Forest's 1-0 win over Liverpool.
Awóníyì started upfront alongside Morgan Gibbs-White and Jesse Lingard in a 4-3-3 formation as he ended up scoring against his former employers.
His fellow Nigerian, Emmanuel Dennis was an unused substitute in Forest's famous win.
Awoniyi's eventful day was over as he was brought off for Joe Worrall in the 63rd minute.
At Goodison Park, Alex Iwobi played an integral part in Everton's 3-0 win over Crystal Palace. On the other hand, Eberechi Eze, Michael Olise and Malcolm Ebiwoei were unable to inspire a win nor a draw for Palace.
Iwobi provided the assist for the Toffees first goal scored by Dominic Calvert-Lewin at minute 11.
With six minutes left in the game, the Super Eagles midfielder came to the party once again as he assisted Dwight McNeil to score Everton's third.
Iwobi now has six goal involvements (one goal and five assists) in twelve Premier League appearances this season.
The Everton number 17 went the full ninety, so did Eze, while Olise and Ebiowei were on parade for 62 and 15 minutes respectively with England manager Gareth Southgate watching on from the stands.
The three Crystal Palace players are eligible to represent England, with Ebiowei making his debut for the U20 squad last month.
And at Stamford Bridge. Anglo-Nigerian midfielder Carney Chukwuemeka was in action for the last eleven minutes as Chelsea and Manchester United shared the spoils with a 1-1 draw.
In-form winger Shola Shoretire was on U21 duties this afternoon and was omitted from the traveling squad to London.
Goals from Jorginho and Casemiro ensured that both sides shared the points.
