Nigeria claimed their first-ever medal at the FIFA U17 Women's World Cup, beating Germany 3-2 on penalties to win bronze in the seventh edition of the tournament in India.

The Starters
Goalkeeper
Faith Omilana : Good performance by the first choice keeper who made strings of saves in the 90 minutes of regulation time and was even in duty during the shootout. 8/10.
Defenders
Comfort Folorunsho : The central defender was having a good game but had to be subbed off after colliding with keeper Omilana. 6/10.
Shakira Oyinlola : The central defender was lucky not to conceded a penalty after the VAR reviewed her challenge on a German forward. Decent game. 6/10.
Tumininu Adeshina : Missed her spot kick in the shootout but overall was impressive at left back. She supported the attacking phase of the game too. 7/10.
Miracle Usani : The versatile right back who is also capable of playing at left back delivered the corner kick from which Nigeria scored the second goal. She was fantastic at the back and noticeably drifted to midfield a few times go double up on the Germans. 7/10.
Midfielders and strikers
Blessing Emmanuel : The captain made some vital interceptions and tackles that broke the attacking phase of the Germans a couple of times. Booked in the second half. 7.5/10.
Mary Aderemi : Tidy in her marking and ball distribution but had to be substituted when the team went for a second goal. Replaced by attacker Edidiong Etim. 6/10.
Taiwo Afolabi : The central midfielder was key in creating decent chances in the opposition half. Afolabi exploited the passing lanes to track the runs of the attacking players. 7/10.
Chidera Okenwa : She made her World Cup debut and played for 59 minutes before she was subbed off. Okenwa provided the assist for the first goal but missed a good chance to score herself in the second half. 7/10.
Amina Bello : Bello scored with a bullet header for the second goal. All round effective play for Nigeria in this testy encounter. 7/10.
Opeyemi Ajakaye : Scored her first goal of the tournament and used her pace amd power to cause problems for the Germans. 8.5/10.
The Substitutes
Blessing Sunday : The defender made her debut at the World Cup replacing injured Comfort Folorunsho. She almost conceded an own goal which was saved by Omilana.
Aside that averted own goal, she was strong in the tackles and won a her aerial duels. 6/10.
Bisola Mosaku : Brought on late into the game to add bite to the midfield and the search for goals. 5/10.
Edidiong Etim : Scored a beautiful half volley and almost made it two goals for herself later on. Impact substitution. 7/10.
