Romano reveals four potential buyers for Osimhen including Chelsea and Man Utd
Published: April 19, 2023
Italian transfer market guru Fabrizio Romano has provided a detailed update on the future of Victor Osimhen, with rumours in full swing that he is set to depart Napoli in the summer transfer window.
Although the Nigeria international has reiterated times without number that he is happy at Napoli, everything is pointing to the fact that he'll be moving on to pastures new when the transfer window opens for business.
This season, Osimhen has established himself as one of the best center forwards in Europe, having mustered 26 goals in all competitions, including his stoppage time equalizer against AC Milan in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday night.
Romano has confirmed that Osimhen is among the strikers being targeted by Bayern Munich, who are looking for a long-term replacement for Robert Lewandowski after the striker's move to Barcelona.
He added that Paris Saint-Germain, Chelsea and Manchester United are all interested in signing the 2015 FIFA U17 World Cup winner.
"Contacts are expected soon also for Victor Osimhen. For sure it's an important moment fro him but we are still waiting to understand the position of Napoli," Romano said on his YouTube page.
"Napoli have not decided the price tag for Osimhen yet and that is going to be a crucial one to understand who is really going to make a proposal for him in the summer.
"It's true that Bayern will be in the market for a striker and Osimhen is appreciated but he's not the only option they have on the list.
"Paris Saint-Germain are in the market for a striker. Luís Campos is the director who trusted Osimhen at Lille, one of the many incredible signings in the past of Luis Campos, so PSG are interested in Osimhen, but also Chelsea and Manchester United have his name on the list, so four clubs race, but nothing decided yet so we have to wait on Napoli to decide the potential price tag.
"This will be a slow deal in the market, not an easy one at all because Napoli will fight in all the possible ways."
Osimhen, who joined Napoli from Lille for a club record fee of 70 million euros in 2020, still has approximately two years left on his contract with the Serie A champions in waiting.
