'Eletu is raring to go' - Agent reveals AC Milan starlet is in top shape ahead of Flying Eagles' opener
Published: May 19, 2023AC Milan wonderkid Victor Eletu is honored to be selected in the Flying Eagles' 21-man squad for the 2023 FIFA U20 World Cup, his agent, Allele Celestine has exclusively informed allnigeriasoccer.com.
Eletu and his agent have already landed in Mendoza after a local flight from Buenos Aires, and were in a taxi heading to the Flying Eagles hotel as at 1720 hours Nigerian time.
The 18-year-old joins the Flying Eagles in probably the best form of his career, having scored one goal and registered two assists in his last four matches for Milan's Primavera squad.
In what would be sweet music to the ears of Nigeria U20 head coach Ladan Bosso, Allele revealed that Eletu has no injury issues and is ready to take to the pitch for the Flying Eagles opening match of the World Cup against Dominican Republic.
"He played a game on Wednesday and left Italy the following day. Both of us arrived Argentina today and we boarded the local flight to Mendoza, we are currently on our way to camp," Allele told allnigeriasoccer.com.
"Victor is raring to go. This is a big honour and privilege for him to represent Nigeria. In preparation for the tournament, he has been training specially, having private sessions apart from the team training with AC Milan.
"The call-up for the World Cup is like a reward. He has no injuries and he's in his best form, apart from the usual jet lag flying across Europa to South America.
"He's ready to start against Dominican Republic if selected by the coaches."
Eletu has been assigned the Flying Eagles' number 10 jersey at the World Cup, previously worn by one of the most skillful Nigerian players to play the beautiful game, Etim Esin.
