Blackburn Rovers make transfer decision on Anglo-Nigerian defender

Championship outfit Blackburn Rovers have made a transfer decision on Anglo-Nigerian defender Tayo Edun.
Blackburn Rovers manager Jon Dahl Tomasson has confirmed that the former England youth teamer will be allowed to move on from Ewood Park this summer.
Signed from Lincoln City in the summer of 2021, Edun played a bit-part role last season, making only one start in the Championship and his playing time is unlikely to increase if he remains at Blackburn Rovers in the forthcoming season.
He was not named in the matchday squad as Blackburn Rovers kicked off their pre-season schedule with a goalless draw against Accrington Stanley.
With a departure on the cards, Edun's squad number seven has been allocated to summer signing from CSKA Moscow, Arnor Sigurdsson.
"He’s not involved and he’s one of the players who will be going away," Jon Dahl Tomasson told LancsLive.
"At the moment he doesn’t have that option, I think we will see a lot of movement in the next weeks in that way.”
Edun spent the formative years of his career at Fulham before sealing a permanent transfer to Lincoln City in 2020.
The 2017 European U19 champion with the Young Lions has appeared in 87 matches in the Football League, scoring three goals.
