Italian transfer market expert Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Premier League club Nottingham Forest are still working on a deal to sign Leicester City ace Wilfred Ndidi before the close of the summer transfer window, despite the two-time European champions pushing to sign PSV Eindhoven defensive midfielder Ibrahim Sangaré.
Romano has suggested that Nottingham Forest have identified Ndidi as their priority target regardless of ongoing negotiations between the Premier League side and ther Dutch counterparts for Ivory Coast star Sangaré.
Nottingham Forest have reportedly made an opening offer to sign Ndidi and it remains to be seen whether or not Leicester City will accept the bid from the Reds.
The Foxes are the form team in the Championship having won all their four matches, plus another two in the Carabao Cup, with Ndidi featuring in all the games, scoring two goals and providing an assist.
PSV received an offer of 35 million euros from Nottingham Forest for Ibrahim Sangaré on Wednesday night after qualifying for the Champions League - an amount close to the player's release clause, according to Eindhovens Dagblad.
Ndidi has been playing for Leicester City since January 2017, joining the former Premier League champions from Racing Genk.
Since then, the Super Eagles star has participated in 243 matches, scoring thirteen times and also providing thirteen assists.
The Nath Boys product has entered the last one year of his contract with Leicester City.
