Ex-Newcastle United star picks Udogie over Zinchenko in Arsenal v Tottenham combined XI
Published: September 15, 2023
Former Newcastle United midfielder and talkSPORT pundit Darren Ambrose has said that he will choose Destiny Udogie over Arsenal's Oleksandr Zinchenko in his Arsenal v Totteham Hotspur combined XI.
Udogie has been brilliant for Tottenham since the start of the season and has established himself as the first-choice left-back for the club.
He has started all of Spurs' four league games, playing as the left-back in Ange Postecogolou's 4-3-3 formation.
The 20-year-old has two assists which is the joint most of any Tottenham player and bettered by only four players in the Premier League - James Ward-Prowse, Kaoru Mitoma, Phil Foden and Pedro Neto.
In comparison, Zinchenko is yet to register any goal contribution for Arsenal this season.
Ambrose has been amazed by the young Italy U21 international and has said that he will pick him over the former Manchester City left-back.
"I would put Romero in. Udogie gets in on current form, " he told talkSPORT via TBR.
"But he [Oleksandr Zinchenko] hasn't been playing much,
"He has been injured. It’s been a good start. I forgot he was at Spurs when he went on loan."
It remains to be seen whether Udogie will be fit enough for Spurs' Premier League encounter with Sheffield United on Saturday.
