Official : Houston Dash make roster decision on Super Falcons fullback Michelle Alozie
Published: November 22, 2023
With a statement on their official website, National Women's Soccer League club Houston Dash have announced their initial roster decisions following the conclusion of the 2023 NWSL regular season.
Super Falcons fullback Michelle Alozie is among the twelve players contracted to Houston Dash entering the offseason, the others being Andressa Alves, Jane Campbell, Ryan Gareis, Natalie Jacobs, Katie Lind, Diana Ordóñez, Courtney Petersen, Nichelle Prince, Ally Prisock, Sophie Schmidt and Havana Solaun.
Alozie appeared in seventeen matches, including thirteen starts, over the course of the 2023 campaign, scoring four goals
Her standout performance was against Ifeoma Onumonu's Gotham City at the Red Bull Arena (Harrison, New Jersey), where she scored her first career brace in the NWSL, which earned her the NWSL Player of the Week honors for the first time in her career.
The American-born player joined Houston Dash in 2021 after stops at Legends FC, Granite Hills Cougars, Yale Bulldogs and Tennessee Volunteers.
On the international stage, she was a key member of a disciplined Super Falcons side that reached the last 16 of the 2023 Fifa Women's World Cup, helping goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie post three shutouts in four matches during the tournament held in New Zealand and Australia.
Houston Dash have said goodbye to Lindsi Jennings, Ella Dederick, Makamae Gomera-Stevens and Devon Kerr who were part of the 2023 roster.
