Obi-Martin scores brace for Arsenal U16s after 10-goal haul against Liverpool
Published: November 25, 2023
Denmark U17 international of Nigerian descent Chido Obi-Martin continued his sensational season by scoring a brace for Arsenal U16s against Derby County on Saturday.
The teenage center forward received a lot of attention in the media after his ten-goal haul in a friendly against Liverpool last weekend.
Arsenal U16s defeated the Rams 4-1 today with Obi-Martin accounting for half of the goals netted by the young Gunners.
The Danish-Nigerian wonderkid is in his final season as a schoolboy and is guaranteed a scholarship deal for the 2024-2025 season.
He has already played in competitive matches for Arsenal U18s, U19s and U21s before turning 16.
Obi-Martin's standout performance for Arsenal youth teams in a competitive game from a goalscoring perspective came in an U18 Premier League fixture with Southampton, netting a hat-trick in a 4-0 win.
Born in Glostrup to a Danish mother and Nigerian father, he is eligible to play international football for three countries namely Nigeria, Denmark and England.
Obi-Martin has represented his country of birth Denmark and England at youth level but has no caps for Nigeria's youth teams.
