Besiktas join Servette, Young Boys in race for Swiss Super League top scorer Kevin Carlos
Published: June 29, 2024
Swiss top-flight club Yverdon-Sport are struggling to keep hold of their standout player last season, Kevin Carlos.
The Spanish-born Nigerian striker enjoyed a breakout 2023-2024 season by netting 14 goals in 35 Super League matches to clinch the top scorer award, which he shared with Chadrac Akolo (St Gallen) and Zan Celar (Lugano).
According to 4-4-2, Kevin Carlos is on the list of players being targeted by Turkish giants Besiktas in the summer transfer window.
The Istanbul side have started talks with Yverdon-Sport over the transfer of the dual-national and they are aiming to conclude the transfer of the player in the next few weeks,
Besiktas face competition for the signature of Carlos as Swiss clubs Servette FC and BSC Young Boys are also interested in him.
The 23-year-old initially joined Yverdon-Sport on loan last summer before signing a permanent contract in January 2024.
Due to his impressive performances, Yverdon-Sport were able to avoid relegation last season, with the striker directly participating in seven goals in his last five games in the Super League.
Carlos was once teammates with Kelechi Nwakali at SD Huesca, and also counts Almudévar and Real Betis as his previous employers.
He has cited Super Eagles legend Daniel Amokachi as his role model.
