Trusted source reveals PSG will try to sign Napoli striker Osimhen but not at asking price
Published: July 15, 2024
According to reputable French sports daily L'Equipe, PSG seem inclined to try their luck to sign Napoli striker Victor Osimhen.
PSG do not want to activate Osimhen's release clause of 130 million euros as it is deemed excessive and hope to be able to negotiate it down.
While the Ligue 1 giants' negotiation for Khvitcha Kvaratskhelia is at a stalemate due to Napoli's stance on the availability of the Georgian, they are ready to continue their push for the Nigerian forward.
Without the availability of Kylian Mbappé next season, the Parisians need to fill the vacuum of the departed Frenchman as they are not confident about Randal Kolo Muani and Gonçalo Ramos delivering the goods.
Borussia Dortmund have attempted to sign Muani but the French outfit rejected their advances while Ramos is wanted by Atletico Madrid.
The two strikers cost them a lot last summer and it is no surprise that they are ready to let one of them leave before bringing in Osimhen whose last hope of leaving Napoli this summer hinges on PSG at the moment.
The 25-year-old wants a move to the Premier League but there have been no concrete advances from any of the English clubs, thereby leaving him with the option of staying in Naples, moving back to the Ligue 1 or going after the money by heading to the Saudi Pro-League.
Paris and Naples have not finished negotiating this summer. While discussions around the arrival of Khvitcha Kvaratskhelia are not progressing, despite an agreement with the player , PSG should relaunch in the coming days the track leading to Victor Osimhen.
