'It will be a privilege to represent Nigeria' - French-based striker waiting for Super Eagles call-up

French-based forward Akor Adams, has expressed his strong desire to represent the Nigerian national team at senior level.
The young striker, currently honing his skills in Ligue 1 with Montpellier, shared his aspirations while emphasizing his commitment to his club performance as a pathway to achieving his national team dream.
In an interview with Tribal Football, Adams articulated the deep significance of playing for the Nigerian national team for him and many other footballers hailing from the country
"In as much it is a dream for every Nigerian footballer to play for the Super Eagles, which is for me as well," he stated, acknowledging the honour that comes with the call-up.
Despite this, he remained focused on his current responsibilities at Montpellier, working diligently to enhance his game with hopes that his performances will eventually earn him that coveted place on the national squad.
"I try to focus on what I can do for my club and continue to work hard on my game, which to me is very important. It will be sure a privilege to be able to represent Nigeria at the senior level. So, i just wait for the time."
The 24-year-old recognized the impressive attributes of the strikers within the Super Eagles squad and expressed his eagerness to seize any opportunity to represent Nigeria.
"I will really acknowledge that Nigeria have some top strikers right now. Football is a game of chance and you have to keep improving your game and trust your own process, which I do.
"If the chance comes, I just have to be ready to perform, which is the most important."
As a former forward for the Flying Eagles, he emphasized that he is not preoccupied with when he might receive his chance to play for the national team; instead, he is focused on being fully prepared to capitalize on that opportunity whenever it arises.
"I am not just concerned with when it is coming, I am concerned about if I am prepared to take it. But credit to all the strikers who having been doing well for Nigeria and their clubs," he stated.
Adams has been making marks with his performances in the Ligue 1. The former Flying Eagles forward has scored three goals and provided two assists in eleven matches across all competitions this season.
