Osimhen, Dzeko or Immobile? Samsunspor's Dutch defender picks the striker to fear most
Published: December 20, 2024
Samsunspor's Dutch central defender defender Rick van Drongelen has hailed Victor Osimhen as the most dangerous striker in the Super Lig, surpassing the likes of Edin Dzeko and Ciro Immobile.
Osimhen, who joined Galatasaray on loan from Napoli in September , has made a significant impact since his arrival, netting ten goals and providing five assists in fourteen matches across all competitions.
Osimhen's ability to torment defenders has caught the attention of many, with Van Drongelen noting that the importance of teamwork is crucial in effectively containing the Nigerian striker.
In a recent interview with Fanatik, Van Drongelen stressed the significance of approaching each game and striker according to their unique characteristics.
"I respect all strikers. They are all very high-quality players," he explained.
"How much each player challenges me depends on the match. Your performance can also vary from match to match. How you defend as a team is also very important. In some matches, you can defend in very narrow areas."
When asked to identify the most formidable striker among Dzeko, Immobile, and Osimhen, the Dutch defender confidently stated, "If I were to name one striker who challenges me the most, I would say Victor Osimhen.
"In my opinion, Victor Osimhen is the most dangerous striker in the Super Lig. Everyone sees and understands this. That is why the big teams in Europe are following him."
Osimhen's remarkable form has not gone unnoticed, with several top European clubs, including Chelsea, PSG, and Juventus, reportedly interested in acquiring the forward in the upcoming transfer windows.
