'Takes care of thousands of Africans' - Pundit suggests Osimhen can't say no to lucrative offers
Published: May 25, 2025
Victor Osimhen's future remains a topic of intense speculation, and Turkish pundit Onur Tugrul believes the Nigerian striker is unlikely to reject lucrative contract offers due to the weight of responsibility he carries.
Speaking on the Vole YouTube channel, via habersarikirmizi.com, Tugrul highlighted the unique pressures Osimhen faces compared to other football stars, pointing out the Napoli forward’s personal commitment to his community back home.
“Edin Dzeko rejected three times more money from Saudi Arabia before coming to Fenerbahçe. However, Victor Osimhen’s situation is different,” Tugrul said.
"Osimhen takes care of hundreds, even thousands of people in Africa. They live in very crowded places."
Tugrul suggested that Osimhen's role extends far beyond the pitch.
"Even when they go out at night, they hang out with a crowd. He never goes to Turkish restaurants. He always eats Nigerian food," he added.
The comments underline how Osimhen’s cultural and social ties heavily influence his lifestyle and career decisions.
Unlike many players who may focus solely on sporting or personal goals, Osimhen is seen as a pillar of support for a large community in Nigeria, making financial security a top priority.
With clubs in Saudi Arabia and elsewhere reportedly prepared to offer massive salaries to lure him away from Napoli, Tugrul’s remarks suggest it would be difficult for the 26-year-old striker to turn down such deals, especially given his responsibilities.
