'Arsenal have standards' - Transfer market expert insists Lookman is not a top target for Gunners
Published: May 25, 2025
Atalanta forward Ademola Lookman is expected to leave the Bergamo club at the end of the season, according to transfer market expert Matteo Moretto.
Speaking on Fabrizio Romano’s YouTube channel, via Area Napoli, Moretto confirmed Lookman’s imminent departure.
"Lookman is a name that we will definitely talk about in view of the next transfer market because Lookman will leave Atalanta 99.9%."
While rumors have linked Lookman to Arsenal, Moretto expressed skepticism about the English club’s genuine interest.
He explained: "In the last few hours the rumor has come out that Lookman could end up at Arsenal.
"I tell you that to date I don't know if he is due to his characteristics but above all due to his age, because Arsenal in any case have a certain type of standard also in terms of the age of the players to buy."
He added, "I don't think Lookman is the first or even the second choice for Arsenal in that position.
"It's true that he was offered to Arsenal so Lookman has certainly been offered to many teams in Europe, Arsenal, Atletico Madrid but to date the teams most interested are two Italian ones: Juventus which I've already told you about and Napoli."
Lookman has impressed under Atalanta coach Gian Piero Gasperini, and his potential move is generating significant interest as Napoli looks to bolster its attacking options for the upcoming season.
The coming weeks are expected to bring clarity to Lookman’s future as Napoli and Juventus vie for his signature.
