'Same sentence' - Insider links Leroy Sane deal to Galatasaray's plan to lure Osimhen
Published: June 14, 2025
Galatasaray insider Ali Naci Küçük believes Galatasaray's acquisition of Bayern Munich winger Leroy Sané is part of their strategy to persuade Napoli forward Victor Osimhen to join the Super Lig champions.
Sané will complete his move to Galatasaray after his Bayern Munich contract expires on June 30, 2025, but remains eligible to represent the German champions at the Fifa Club World Cup until the end of the month.
The Germany international has agreed a three-year deal with Galatasaray and will earn a net salary of 9 million euros per season and a loyalty bonus of 3 million euros.
Galatasaray are eager to retain Osimhen following a prolific loan spell in which he netted 37 goals and registered eight assists in 41 appearances, but the Nigeria international is in no hurry to decide his future.
Speaking on the Futbol Arena Youtube channel via habersarikirmizi.com, Küçük revealed Osimhen echoed Mauro Icardi’s famous words when he joined Galatasaray.
"When Icardi signed for Galatasaray, he said, 'If we are going to build a strong team, I will stay.' Osimhen used the same sentence."
That statement has now become symbolic, with Galatasaray responding by securing the high-profile signing of Sané, seen as a direct message to Osimhen about their ambition.
Küçük urged the fans and media to respect the striker's patience and decision-making process.
"Now let's talk about the transfer issue. Galatasaray is in a hurry, but Osimhen is not.
"The player needs to be treated with understanding. Galatasaray has done the math well at the moment."
Galatasaray have reportedly tabled a concrete offer of €14 million plus bonuses in wages, which Osimhen is currently considering, although he is also exploring other options after turning down a big-money move to Al-Hilal.
In recent days, the former African Footballer of the Year has been spotted in Lagos and attended the tenth birthday of Amaju Pinnick's daughter.
