'He is still confused' - Pundit reveals Victor Osimhen's chances of joining Galatasaray
Published: June 15, 2025
Victor Osimhen is yet to make a final decision on his future despite receiving a substantial offer from Turkish giants Galatasaray, according to A Spor commentator Murat Özbostan.
The Nigeria international spent last season on loan at The Lion following failed deadline day moves to Chelsea and Al-Ahli.
The prolific striker went on to enjoy a record-breaking campaign, helping Galatasaray to a domestic double, lifting both the Super Lig title and the Turkish Cup.
Osimhen scored a career-best 37 goals in 41 appearances across all competitions, underlining his status as one of the most lethal forwards in European football.
He has been offered a €15 million salary plus €10 million in sponsorship bonuses, but the Napoli forward remains undecided despite the significance of Galatasaray's proposal.
Özbostan disclosed that Osimhen’s family is not in favour of a move to Saudi Arabia, an important factor that could influence the striker's next career decision.
He added that the chances of the former African Footballer of the Year joining Galatasaray are slightly above average.
"Galatasaray offered Victor Osimhen a bare 15 million Euro salary and 10 million Euro sponsorship. Osimhen is not closing the door to Galatasaray either, but he has not made a clear decision. He is still confused," A Spor commentator Murat Özbostan said, according to habersarikirmizi.com.
"Osimhen's family is not keen on Arabia. I think his chances of staying at Galatasaray are around 60%.
“Galatasaray made their offer and then waited. I think the Galatasaray management is being very generous.”
Although Victor Osimhen remains under contract with Italian champions Napoli until June 2026, he is not part of Antonio Conte’s plans for next season and is expected to be offloaded before the summer transfer window closes.
