'Not giving up' - Romano confirms Al-Hilal remain interested in Osimhen despite big fat no
Published: June 16, 2025
Renowned transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has shed light on why Saudi Arabian giants Al Hilal are still pushing to sign Victor Osimhen, despite the Nigerian striker rejecting their lucrative proposals on multiple occasions.
Osimhen, who recently enjoyed a standout loan spell at Galatasaray, turned down a mega offer from Al Hilal before the start of the FIFA Club World Cup.
The proposal was reportedly worth around €40 million (over ₦17 billion), underlining the Saudi club's ambition to land the prolific forward.
Despite the substantial financial package, the Super Eagles star opted not to move to Saudi Arabia, leaving the door open for top European clubs to make their approach in the ongoing summer transfer window.
Speaking on his YouTube channel, Romano confirmed that Al Hilal remain undeterred by the earlier rejections and are still actively pursuing the Napoli striker.
He emphasized that the club's persistence stems from their belief that no European side can match their financial might.
"Al Hilal are still not giving up on Victor Osimhen," Romano said. "Al Hilal have not left the conversation and remain interested in Victor Osimhen. Al Hilal believe that other clubs can't compete with their financial proposal to Victor Osimhen.
"And this why they want to try despite rejection by the player to participate in the Club World Cup with them.
"They want to try again because they had an agreement already with Napoli by paying the release clause, and they want to try again on player's side.
"Al-Hilal are expected to return for Victor Osimhen, then let's see what the player decides.
"There is Galatasaray, there is interest from Premier League, so there are several solutions for Osimhen. Al-Hilal are still offering big money to Victor Osimhen."
With the transfer window heating up and several top European sides monitoring Osimhen's situation, the Nigerian international is expected to be at the center of a major transfer saga this summer.
However, Al Hilal's financial muscle could yet play a pivotal role in shaping his future.
