Official: Oseni gets No. 18 shirt at Plymouth Argyle after penning three-year deal
Published: June 27, 2025
The proposed move of Nigerian forward Owen Oseni to Plymouth Argyle is now complete, with the League One club officially announcing on Friday that he has joined from St Mirren for an undisclosed fee on a three-year contract.
Scottish Premiership outfit St Mirren included a sell-on clause and potential for future add-ons in the deal taking the Nigerian to the Pilgrims, subject to clearance.
Oseni has departed St Mirren after making eleven appearances in all competitions, after joining them in the January transfer window from National League side Gateshead.
Born in Ireland, Oseni began his senior career with Waterford before making the move to England to join Derby County’s academy.
During his time with the Rams, he gained experience through loan spells at Nuneaton Borough and Rushall Olympic, before signing for Gateshead in the summer of 2024.
The forward earned himself a move to the Scottish top-flight in January after scoring 13 goals in 24 matches for Gateshead.
Oseni finished the 2024-2025 season among the National League's top 20 goalscorers, despite featuring in only half of the campaign.
For the upcoming season, he has been handed the No. 18 shirt at Plymouth Argyle — a number previously worn by fellow Nigerian forward Gozie Ugwu.
The transfer is subject to EFL approval and international clearance.
