Award-winning pundit shares what Galatasaray management told him about Osayi-Samuel
Published: June 29, 2025
Ertem Şener has weighed in on the recent speculation linking Bright Osayi-Samuel with a potential move to Galatasaray during the summer transfer window.
Şener is a well-respected figure in Turkish football circles, having received the Kemal Sunal Culture and Art Award for Best Sports Anchor in 2011.
Nigeria international Osayi-Samuel was reportedly on the brink of joining Beşiktaş in a deal worth approximately €2 million per season, but the transfer collapsed after his father introduced new demands ahead of his scheduled arrival in Istanbul.
There were reports that Galatasaray might try to sign the right-back, especially after his planned transfer to Beşiktaş fell through just before it was finalised.
Addressing the rumours, Ertem Şener revealed that Galatasaray’s management denied any interest in the player during a conversation he had with them.
"I spoke to the Galatasaray management. They said, 'We are not interested in Osayi-Samuel.'" Şener said on his YouTube channel as reported by habersarikirmizi.
Osayi-Samuel endured a difficult 2024–25 season with Fenerbahçe, registering just two assists in 39 appearances amid speculation surrounding his future.
With his contract due to expire this week and no extension agreed with the Yellow Canaries, the Blackpool academy graduate is on the verge of becoming a free agent.
As the summer transfer window intensifies, Osayi-Samuel will be looking to secure a fresh start at a new club.
